Nearly 30 years ago, John Blumberg dreamed of building a working livestock farm where family, hard work, and a love of animals could come together. That dream became Rock Hill Farm. What began with a single team of oxen, Mike and Milt, has grown into one of the region's premier draft animal farms, home to Belgian and Percheron horses, working oxen, miniature donkeys, goats, and many other beloved animals.

From the beginning, John's oldest son, Danny, shared that vision. Together they built Rock Hill Farm one fence, one pasture, and one animal at a time.

As the farm grew, something unexpected happened. Veterans found peace beside the horses. Individuals with disabilities discovered confidence through hands-on experiences. Children became captivated by agricultural history, while seniors reconnected with memories of farm life. It became clear the animals were offering something far greater than anyone had imagined.

That realization inspired the creation of the Heritage Hitch Foundation.

Today, the Foundation carries that mission forward by preserving the legacy of draft animals while creating opportunities for education, healing, connection, and service for veterans, first responders, individuals with disabilities, seniors, youth, and our community.

​

Rock Hill Farm remains the home of it all. It is where our animals live, where many of our programs take place, and where we continue to welcome guests for weddings, celebrations, educational events, and community gatherings. Revenue from these events and other off-site events help support the Foundation's mission and the work we do every day.
